Privacy Policy
Pictronica Studio7.0 ("Pictronica", "we", "us") is a photography and video studio operated by Dino Gomez, based in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico, serving clients in Mexico, the United States, and Colombia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through pictronica.com, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to send it to us through the project inquiry form:
- Contact details — your name, email address, and optionally a phone or WhatsApp number.
- Project information — project type, budget range, location, timing, and anything you write in the message field.
If you consent, we also collect limited website-usage information through Google Analytics as described below. We do not use advertising trackers or social media pixels, and we do not buy, sell, rent, or trade personal information — yours or anyone else's.
How we use it
We use the information you submit for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry and, if you hire us, to plan and deliver your project. The legal basis under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries you initiate (Art. 6(1)(f)) and, where a project proceeds, the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
Optional Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-T2L601E26Q) to understand where visits come from and how people use the site. Measurement may include pages viewed, referring source or campaign, approximate location, browser and device information, scrolls, outbound clicks, contact-link interactions, successful inquiry events, sections viewed, and engagement with our self-hosted films. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, inquiry text, or other form contents to Google Analytics.
The Google tag file loads in a denied state so that Google can recognize the consent setting, but Pictronica does not configure GA4 or send website-measurement events until you select “Accept analytics.” After acceptance, Google Analytics may set the first-party cookies _ga (to distinguish visitors) and _ga_<container-id> (to maintain session state). Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years, subject to browser limits. Rejecting analytics does not affect access to the site.
Your choice is stored in your browser. The floating consent panel disappears after you decide; you can later reopen it using the “Privacy choices” link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement and removes Pictronica's Google Analytics cookies where the browser permits. Google acts as our analytics provider; see Google's Privacy Policy. For EU/UK visitors, the legal basis for analytics measurement is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
The inquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which verifies that submissions come from people rather than bots. Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser (such as IP address and browser characteristics) to make that determination. Cloudflare acts as a processor for this purpose; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Self-hosted video
All films and video backgrounds are hosted on pictronica.com and delivered through our hosting and content-delivery providers. The site does not embed third-party video players, so playing a film does not contact a separate video-hosting platform. If you accept analytics, Pictronica sends privacy-limited playback events—start, progress milestones, and completion—to Google Analytics; these events do not include contact-form contents.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by SiteGround and delivered through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Like virtually all web servers, these providers keep standard technical logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and operational purposes, retained for a limited period under their own policies.
Who we share it with
Inquiry data is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the site and receive your message: our hosting provider (SiteGround), CDN and spam-protection provider (Cloudflare), and email service used to receive form submissions. If you consent to analytics, limited usage data is processed by Google. We never share your information with data brokers.
International transfers
We operate from Mexico and our providers process data in the United States and the European Union. Where data of EU/UK residents is transferred outside the EEA, our providers rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Inquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business records — typically no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless a project contract requires longer retention (for example, invoicing and tax records, which are kept as required by law).
Google Analytics event-level data is retained for no longer than 14 months. Your analytics choice remains in your browser until you change it or clear your site data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Object to or restrict our processing;
- Receive a portable copy of the data you provided;
- For residents of Mexico, exercise your ARCO rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EU/UK residents) or exercise applicable rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, and non-discrimination. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hola@pictronica.com and describe the information and right involved. We will verify the request as reasonably necessary and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS with modern security headers, and form submissions are protected against abuse. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical measures appropriate to the small amount of data we handle.
Children
This site is a business service aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted clearly.
